mountains of my new book

Moin nochmal.

Da ist das Ding. Komme eben zurück aus Berlin, wo ich beim Seltmann Verlag bergeweise mein neues Buch signierte.
„Das Land des Lächelns“ wird ab sofort ausgeliefert, und zwar auf allen bekannten Kanälen, außerdem natürlich im Buchhandel.  Signierte Exemplare, gern auch mit Widmung, können direkt bei mir bestellt werden (Ladenpreis + Porto/Verpackung).
„Das Land des Lächelns“ ist eine Hommage an die wackeren Ostwestfalen der 80er Jahre. Schwarzweisse streetphotography, entstanden zur Zeit meines Fotografie-Design-Studiums in Bielefeld.
Hardcover, Schutzumschlag, Fadenbindung,  24 x 21 cm, 100 Seiten mit 80 prächtigen Bildern.

Hello again.

There is the thing. Just got back from Berlin, where I signed mountains of my new book at Seltmann Publishers.
„The Land of Smiles“ is now being delivered through all known channels, as well as in bookstores, of course.  Signed copies, gladly also with dedication, can be ordered directly from me (retail price + postage/packing).
„The Land of Smiles“ is a tribute to the brave East Westphalians of the 80s. Black and white streetphotography, taken at the time of my photography design studies in Bielefeld.
Hardcover, dust jacket, thread binding, 24 x 21 cm, 100 pages with 80 gorgeous pictures.

Moin, nochmal etwas Privates.
Die 80er; das Leben hatte mich zum Studieren nach Bielefeld verschlagen, nach Ostwestfalen. In eine Stadt ohne Wasser.
Wenn man im Auslands-Urlaub jemanden kennen lernte und gefragt wurde, wo man her komme, dann wurde es etwas stotterig: ’somewhere between Hannover and Cologne‘.
Na, egal. Ich wurde dort erwachsen und hatte einen tollen Start in meinen späteren Beruf.

Moin, again something private.
The 80s; life had brought me to study in Bielefeld, in East Westphalia. A city without water.
If you met someone on vacation abroad and were asked where you were from, then it became a bit stuttery: ’somewhere between Hannover and Cologne‘.
Well, never mind. I grew up there and had a great start to my later career.

70s

Moin, mal etwas Privates.

Die 70er; der Krieg war ein kalter. Ehemalige Nazis waren Bundesminister, Telefone hatten Wählscheiben, Schallplatten haben geknistert, das Auto hieß Käfer.
Und ich war dabei, in Göttingen.

Hi, this time something private.
The 70s; the war was a cold one. Former Nazis were federal ministers, telephones had dials, records crackled, the car was called beetle.
And I was there, in Göttingen .

Hamburgs Hochsee-Außenposten

Wir Hamburger haben ja so eine Art Mallorca des Nordens als ein Ausflugsziel für besondere Zeiten. Das Besondere an der Passage nach Helgoland mit einem Seebäderschiff ist das Ausbooten mit einem Börteboot. Es gibt Überlegungen, dieses schöne kleine Abenteuer abzuschaffen; hoffentlich kommt es nicht dazu.
Junge, komm bald wieder.

We Hamburgers have a kind of Mallorca of the North as a destination for special times. The special thing about the passage with a seafaring ship to Helgoland is the disembarkation with a Börteboot. There are considerations to abolish this nice little adventure; hopefully it will not come to that.
